NEC Eco

The NEC Eco Symbol is part of an in-house hardware labeling system that was established in December 1998 to help promote the development of environmentally sound products and to provide customers with environmental data on products. Only products that meet NEC's highest environmental standards under this system are awarded the Eco Symbol and are registered as the company's most advanced Eco Products.

NEC introduced the concept of "Ecology through IT" in FY 2003 and announced its "NEC Environmental Management Vision 2010," in which the company pledged to offset direct and indirect NEC emissions by providing emission reduction solutions that leverage NEC's IT and network technologies. To embody this NEC Environmental Management Vision 2010, we have expanded the scope of the Eco Symbol to encompass software, services, and other solutions. This has accelerated the development of environmentally sound software, services, and solutions, thereby helping customers lessen their environmental impact.

The Eco Symbol is a self-declaration type of ISO (International Standards Organization) environmental label (Type II). This is a label that is only put on products that satisfy the criteria set by each manufacturer group or other organization for products in specific fields.
